THE VALUE OF YOUR LIFE EXPERIENCES

Lately I have been thinking a lot about all the experiences I have had so far in my life. I think, maybe for the first time ever, I now really appreciate them. I mentioned this to a friend the other day, I was wondering if this looking back at my life has to do with age?

Moving from London to the South of France meant new connections and new friends. I think what triggered me to look at former life experiences is due to now spending more time with people younger than me. We often talk about life situations and how we can perceive life in the best possible way. By doing so I have realised I have lived a long time (!) and been in many, many situations already. Such as: Living in different countries, having been married and then going through a divorce, having had children, made big decisions on my own and together with my family, been through lots of joyous moments and also intense emotional pain, tried different sports, learned new languages, travelled, bought and sold cars and houses (I include cars because that has been big for me too!). Oh, there is so much we can go through in one lifetime! Before I used to think it was too much for me to handle. I felt very alone and responsible for everything. Now I am thinking: How amazing I got to experience all this.

For the last ten years I have done my best to turn everything around from seriousness to lightness, growth and play. I am balancing responsibility with curiosity and more openness. I am currently living my spiritual life 🙂 There is no doubt that the crisis I went through as my marriage fell apart was a huge experience for me. It helped open my eyes to a “wholer” life.

Some points I want to stress:

  • Life happens for you, not to you. Life loves you. Life will give you everything you need so you can wake up and realise its beauty.
  • You always have a choice. You can decide the meaning you want to give to your experiences. Maybe you are like me, feeling everything is too much to handle when there are challenges right, left and centre. The beauty of it all is that you can change if you want to. You are the awareness who can perceive situations the way you choose to. How about starting today? Start looking for the good in everything that happens for you.
  • Your life is beautiful and a wonder.
  • However challenging you perceive your life situation to be today, know you are not stuck. You are part of a bigger puzzle and it might be impossible right now to see the bigger picture. But you can decide to trust life. You are here grow and shine.

Much love! Annette X
