ANNETTE WIIK

My name is Annette, and I am a Yoga Academy Certified Teacher (BWY-Accredited School). I started practising Hatha Yoga 20 years ago, and also practised pilates for several years. Holding a certificate from Bangor University to teach mindfulness-based courses, I incorporate my knowledge of mindfulness meditation in all my yoga classes. I have two grown-up children and live in Wimbledon.

Practising yoga and mindfulness meditation helped me through a challenging life situation. The practices also helped me deal with physical injuries, such as a herniated disc in the lower back and a torn meniscus in the knee. In my classes, I emphasize the need to care for the spine and joints in the various yoga postures, to allow the body to move as best it can. 

I enjoy sports, especially tennis. In teaching yoga, I have a passion for yoga in sport. My aim is to help you keep your body working for you, so that you can keep on enjoying your sport!
